Preparation

• Trimming Stems: Trim 1-2 inches from the stems at a 45-degree angle with clean scissors or shears to enhance water absorption.
• Remove Foliage: Remove any leaves that will be submerged in water to prevent bacterial growth in the vase.
• Guard Petals: Gently remove any outer petals, known as guard petals. These are the protective petals of the rose and may appear bruised; removing them reveals the fresher inner layers.

Watering

• Ethylene Sensitivity: Keep roses away from ripening fruits as they release ethylene gas, which can cause wilting.
